I have a painting/print with three children in Colonial style clothes, sitting in the garden, in wooden frame wicker chairs. The two boys are sitting at the end of the table, facing each other while playing chess. The girl is sitting in the middle of the table, holding a fan, watching them play chess. The only marking to identify the painting/print is at the left corner of the picture. It says "Painted by Lefler". Is this painting from Franz Lefler? It looks like his style (I based it on other internet paintings). If it is not him, who is it? Is it a painting or a print? It does look like there is some watercolors involved since it looks like it bleed into the surrounding white part of the picture. Can anyone help me out?

We have a print in our hallway at my parents house that I've been trying to find out more about... it has a similar style to yours, and the only identifying mark is the same thing... "Painted By Lefler"
I know the print was purchased by my family in 1912... so it's old. not sure about anything else. |

Hello art lovers out there. I have 2 paintings one signed L.V. Lefler 1938 of a Monestary in Croatia and the other signed Lefler of a still life of roses. Any help would be appreciated.
