My mom was going to sell these at a yard sale (after finding them in the back of a cupboard) but I fell in love with them and took them! But I'd still like to know something about them. I hope somebody can help me.
Cafe scene Auberge de la Fruite (?) scene Scene with the best view of the artist's signature The same signature is on all of them but on two of the three it is tucked underneath the frame. On the one that is visible I can make out "john r. g...." Maybe that rings a bell. If I can get my camera to take a clearer picture of the signature, I will upload that. I'm also guessing that it would be a bad idea to take the brown paper off the backs of the frames and take the pictures out, right? The frames seem to be quite old and made of something that seems to be plaster. Also, there is an inspection number stamped on the brown paper but it is very generic. So sorry to ramble on. But I will gladly take any advice, ideas, or plain guesses that you might have. I don't know where else to search. Thank you so much! |
