Help identfy 2 old czechoslovakian paintings

Hi guys...i'm just wondering if anyone would be able to identify 2 pictures.
I will try to tell you the little i know about them:
The first painting is a picture of a bee-hive (vcelin in czech) it was my grandpas and i'm not sure where he has aquired it...the frame is still original, there are bunch of stamps in the back, also there is the same signature in the back except instead of 44 like on the face of the picture it says 66...i think the first name might be Josef but the whole signature is pretty much un-readable to me....

The second pic of the flowers in the vase also has a signature that is absolutelly un-readable and as a kid, i can faintly remember that the story behind that one is, that my grandpa knew someone on the inside of the Czechoslovakian national art gallery and that person was able to aquire expensive paintings from well known artists for cheap (the system was very corrupt back then)
Also...if i remember correctly, he was saying something about this painting being some sort of a reproduction of one artist copying another ....and that the copy is somehow supposed to be worth more, than the original, because of who did it...if that makes any sense, it is also possible they were reffering to a completely different picture, i was pretty young back then...

Would there be some sort of a database of artists signatures, that i could search?

I don't know about that. Findartinfo.com has some interesting artist search tools, that allow you to search on partial names and use wildcards. That might be useful.
