Need help identifying artist and art category

I have 2 different pieces of art (paintings) on canvas. Both by same artist.
I need help identifying the artist' signature and would also like to know what
category it would fall under (ie:folk, etc)

Did you previously post this question, or maybe email me about these works? I recall somebody asking about a painting that looked a lot like this not too long ago.
