So I'm trying to find the name of the Artist or title of a painting in a movie I've seen but can't find.
The movie: "The Day of the Locust" circa 1975. In the opening sequence of the movie, the lead character Tod Hackett is moving into a new apartment and hangs a painting where people are dancing/parading/ambling along with a raised effigy of a face. It doesn't tell us in the credits what the title of the painting, and it isn't anywhere I can find online from all my searching. The painting looks as if it has been made within the early to late middle ages. I've been trying to figure this one out for a long time. If anyone has an answer I'd be exceedingly glad to hear it. |

Based on that artscenecal.com link, it would appear that the painting is fictional, and I would imagine the one you saw was painted specifically for the movie.
