I have a painting handed down through the family. I am very curious to who the artist of this painting is. Most painters place there signature on the right lower bottom of the painting. This painter did not do that, in a unusual way this painter put his signature in the mid to left hand bottom area of the painting. The signature shows C.S. and below the C.S. is the year 1879 the 9 looks much like a 0 but if you look close its like a 0 with a tale on it. If anyone could find out who this painter was please let me know because I have looked and looked and looked but found nothing about this painting. Below is a link to the pictures of the painting.
