I have an idea on who this may be but am still not sure. Johannas Vermeer is my first guess but there are so many names with Van Delft and I would love to find the right one. Besides...Does this look like a copy or lithograph to anyone? I am also enclosing the back of the painting because of the name of the seller. I cannot find anything on this seller and I am assuming the artwork/lithograph is from the 1920's The paper on the back is very old as well as the frame. It seems to be a hand cut and hand drawn gold lined on the matte.

The third picture shows the "plate mark" - the indentation made by the pressure of the plate in the press - not something you get with a lithograph but much more characteristic of an etching.
There are only two known landscapes by Vermeer and this is based on neither. |

There's a response in this other thread that I think was meant to be put here.
