Can't figure out signature of artist

Can't figure out signature of artist
I have a couple of original pieces by an artist and I cannot do any research on because I cannot figure out the signature. Either that or there is just no information on this individual. It looks like a capital H with a backward C over it and arut' maybe? LeCanal is one of the pix and it looks like pen/watercolor. Any bit of info would help. It is old but not sure how old. It has become a mystery that I would like to solve. Thanks.

The technique is etching with aquatint. I think the monogram on the left incorporates an initial "D" of the surname. Thus the name is probably "Darut." A real French surname, but I can't find the artist.
