I have an old etching that is a particular favorite of my wife's. The thing is, it appears to be based on an old painting from around the Baroque era -- to my eye Northern European, possibly from the circle of Jan Brueghel. If anyone can identify the specific painting, I would be most obliged.



Also, there is a signature (in reverse) that appears to say "Maijer (or Mayer?) Fecit", in other words, "Made by Maijer". There is a well-known German printmaker named "Meijer", but I don't have any knowledge of anyone named "Maijer". Any help? Thanks in advance.
