roman ruins with maidian and lion

Help! I was shown a picture about 20 years ago. This is what I remember, Roman ruins with a young woman and a lion. I think they were both dead. And on the back of the lithograph painting was a story about the Lion and Maiden.
Also, maybe it was by a German artist. Thanks cb2
