This painting has been in my family for 30 years or so, and we really have no idea of its background. It is supposedly French...ended up in a Hungarian museum and was stolen, and brought to Canada where it was purchased at auction. We think its a 17th century French artist, but don't really know. Do any of you have any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any help... Andrew ![]() |

Lovely...hang onto this one and enjoy. Looks familiar...will definitely have a look around, however, there are some damn good experts hereabouts that will no doubt know the artist.Looks British or French.

Looks more like late 18th century, or early 19th by the look of the lady's dress. Are there no identifying marks or signatures on either the front or back of the piece?
