The first painting is Edwardian or Victorian, depicting two (or more) ladies walking on the sea-shore.
The second is of an Asian girl (possibly Balinese) sitting on the floor. Her hair is in a chignon and I think she has a black, plain headdress on. I also think there's a flower (possibly orchid) beside her. The quality the paintings have in common is the quality of the light, although one is outside and one in. I hope you can help me. For some reason I feel that the first painting is probably a famous one by Peder Severin Kroyer. There's a poster of it displayed on the page linked above, and the Art Renewal Center would be a good place to look for a larger version of it.
The second sounds like something by Paul Gauguin. |
