Question Help in finding fairly well-known paintings

The first painting is Edwardian or Victorian, depicting two (or more) ladies walking on the sea-shore.

The second is of an Asian girl (possibly Balinese) sitting on the floor. Her hair is in a chignon and I think she has a black, plain headdress on. I also think there's a flower (possibly orchid) beside her.

The quality the paintings have in common is the quality of the light, although one is outside and one in.

I hope you can help me.

Thanks,
Melissa

For some reason I feel that the first painting is probably a famous one by Peder Severin Kroyer. There's a poster of it displayed on the page linked above, and the Art Renewal Center would be a good place to look for a larger version of it.

The second sounds like something by Paul Gauguin.
