Information on Victor Bachereau-Reverchon?

I have had a thread running for over 12 months trying to find out who painted a picture I had. Thanks to John I now know! But I cannot find any information about the painter. All I know is that he was French, born in 1843 and died young. He was also known for painting animals. I think he was connected with the Paris Salon. I have found a few of his other paintings, but nothing about him Any clues would be gratefully received. I've trawled the internet but cannot find any info.

His entry in the Getty ULAN database has some basic info and a few references to print works.

But here's something interesting... I tried searching on "Reverchon" alone and came up with a variety of references for Victor Buchereau-Reverchon. For example:

In fact there are many more references in Google to Buchereau than Bachereau, but all the pages appear to be related to that same painting, and copies and prints thereof. I suspect "Bachereau" is actually correct.

Hi Nicola, I don't know if your still interested or looking into V. Bachereau-Reverchon but if you are i was wondering if you have found anymore information about him?. A print of the painting that you where looking into has been hanging on my wall for almost as long as i can remember and only recently i started looking into it and trying to find out a little bit about it and who painted it, Like you have said there appears to be nothing on the internet of any detail about either the painting or the painter except his name and few other works he has done, Was just wondering if you found out anything else about either one?
