I'm pretty sure the signature is "A. Cipriani". There is a known sculptor by this name - try this search in Google.

John I too have a small bust of Napoleon signed A Cipriani. How do I verify it is original or just a copy or fake. Any assistance gratefully received. Allen Willcocks |

Signatures of an artist can change over time. The subject does look like a model that Adolfo Cipriani used in a marble work I have, which is damaged. Mine may may be one of his later works from the 1920s. It is two young women on the beach. The flowers in the hair of your bust, and other elements, appear typical of a Cipriani. But the signature is different than on mine. Although both are signed A Cipriani. Mine is signed in cursive with the bottom of the "C" extending under the last part of his name. It is signed on the subjects' left side, in the sand of the beach scene.
