Default Help identify Pencil Portrait on canvas

can anyone tell me what this is and who the artist is ???

Great drawing, if that's what it is. The circles are possibly for working out the proportions of the portrait.

The writing might be of interest, but the picture isn't clear enough for me to make anything out of it. A big, crisp picture would be great.

I don't know how that text ended up printed on the canvas, but strangely enough it's a passage from the Kama Sutra.

What I can make out are the words "monotype 1/1"

In other words it's a unique print. In this example the picture seems to have been created by printing various images from various sources onto the printing plate (how I don't know) then reprinting them all together from that plate onto the canvas.
