Julian O. ?? Can you help identify?

My parents have had this painting in thier house for atleast 30yrs. I think it's oil on velvet. It has the name Julian O. in the bottem left cornor. I need any help you can give. Thanks. Also if you look the ship is sailing backwards. Sorry but the painting is dark.

I don't know much about velvet paintings at all. Julian O could be the name of the boat. Could be massed produced for tourists. There is a Julian Oliver Davidson that did mostly marine battle paintings someone could have been trying to copy one of his ships. http://www.battleoflakeerieart.com/jodartist.php
