Default Fictional Exhibition

Hey guys, I am in an art history class now that is all about modern day curating. For one of our projects we have to assume the role of a curator and organize a fictional multi artist exhibition. We have to to pick one artist, then decide on a theme for the show, and pick the other artist based on that theme.

I chose Zak Smith. I think I want to focus my show on artists that make very detailed work. I know that it is pretty open-ended, but I think that you need to leave room for the audience to make their own connections.

My question to you guys is this: Does anyone have any names of artists that utilize patterns, or work using painstaking detail that I could use as a jumping-off point for my research?

I figured that this would be the best place to pose this question, thanks in advance for help.
