This one is driving me crazy. I researched it before I bought it and I thought I found a painting by a listed artist that had the same style and signed the name Summers the same way, with two diagonal lines through it. But now I can't find it and Summers is a very common name.
Is anyone familiar with an artist "Summers", who signs with two diagonal lines through the name? I don't think it's Ivan, Carole or Robert Summers. Can you identify the style or school that this artist painting in, so I narrow my search. The dimensions are 18" x 32" oil painting http://s575.photobucket.com/albums/s...rs%20painting/ |

This is the best I can do with enlarging the signature for Dudley Gloyne Summers. Source => http://www.curtispublishing.com/imag...l/19400300.jpg
Not the same signature or artist as far as I can tell. From what I could find D.G.Summers did mostly illustrations for magazines and books. Last edited by Eirene : November 3rd, 2009 at 09:38 AM. |

I just had a thought..duh...could it possibly be that it was painted by someone that spent their summers at this place? No signature? I wonder if there is one signed winters.
