Default Summers Painting

This one is driving me crazy. I researched it before I bought it and I thought I found a painting by a listed artist that had the same style and signed the name Summers the same way, with two diagonal lines through it. But now I can't find it and Summers is a very common name.

Is anyone familiar with an artist "Summers", who signs with two diagonal lines through the name? I don't think it's Ivan, Carole or Robert Summers.

Can you identify the style or school that this artist painting in, so I narrow my search.

The dimensions are 18" x 32" oil painting

This is the best I can do with enlarging the signature for Dudley Gloyne Summers. Source => http://www.curtispublishing.com/imag...l/19400300.jpg

Not the same signature or artist as far as I can tell. From what I could find D.G.Summers did mostly illustrations for magazines and books.

I don't know the age but it is not new. I'd say it's at least 50 years old.

I just had a thought..duh...could it possibly be that it was painted by someone that spent their summers at this place? No signature? I wonder if there is one signed winters.

If that is the case then he lives in the bizarro world because it is a winter painting.
