I loveeee how no one here tried to help the origional poster....just like the rest of the internet the conversation drifted to nude women. If anyone can help the origional poster irishtimes84 they should email him at his registered email irishtimes84@aim.com

Default Barton

I have 1 like the one you describe. Go on Ebay and type in Barton nude painting and there are some there for sale right now. I've been trying to find out more by the artist and can't.

Did any of you take heed of Hercules post regarding Barton paintings? This is not one artist, they are mass produced in a Chinese factory.

Hi,
I was asked about a painting I posted a photo of. The painting was given to my wife and I as a wedding present in 1978.
It isn't really a painting rather a daubing, the work has been created using a scalpel/spatula to apply the oil paint thickly to the canvas. The paint is in many layers in some places and in others appears to have been brushed over.
There are pieces of black canvas where I think the paint was not applied.

About 2 years ago I was concerned for the paint and applied an acrylic spray paint to the surface. I had not been cleaned before I did this.
The spray paint is similar to what I am using to protect my high quality prints from my photography.

The url to the photo is below

http://www.pbase.com/ianm_au/image/2...4/original.jpg

If interested or wanting more detail I can take high quality photos of sections of the painting.

i have a painting signed the same way as the picture of the signature someone posted earlier, but my painting doesnt sound like any of the ones you all are describing and it doesnt look anything like that donald blagge barton artist's paintings someone mentiond and they all say he signs on left and my painting is signed on right, so i am not sure who it is from. mine has scenery with what looks like a dutch windmill and a bridge over water, with a naked lady climbing a street lamp and other people walking along in background. i will keep looking but if anyone has clues.

Unhappy BBB=Baffled By Barton

I purchased my Barton when I was in Germany. You've mentioned Nudes from the back. I was considering selling mine on Ebay today, but with so many people searching for answers, perhaps I'll wait a bit. I can't upload it at the moment because the jpeg size is too large for this site, but looking at the pictures that are there, I'm obviously in the same group of people of good taste.
