We just found a painting of my sister-in-law in her mothers attic, it is 44 years old , she received it from a male friend when she was 18, he had an artis do it, it is signed A Tosi--also on the back there is a label --Art Gallery Santa Lucia, Angelo Panza Via Santa Lucia 14 Naples (Italy)

Some time ago I heard back from Sotheby's. They say my painting was NOT painted by Arturo Tosi. I saw a similar painting for sale at an art gallery. It was listed on eBay for $200.

I had also contacted several galleries in Italy and sent them photos of my painting. They also indicated that what I had was not an Arturo Tosi painting.

Thanks to everyone who has shared their insights into this mystery!

I have 2 small paintings, approx 6" x 6" both with the
same theme. Looks like some type of impressionism. One has
people in front of two castle type villas. The other has a carriage
and some people going down a thurofaire. The name looks like
F then oo or dot dot , then T o or dot , then a lower case letter,
maybe p ? , then a small L with 3 letters after it. Maybe a r e
or something close to that. Anyone ever hear of F--T--l---

I have a painting from an artist with the signature of A. Tosi. This is a family portrait that was done over seas. The picture was painted from two different pictures. I am wondering if this is the same A. Tosi everyone is speaking of.

I have several 5x7 oil paintings of the ocean signed Tosi, any information on them would be great.

I have a large collection of old oil paintings signed by various artists from around the world. There are several small 5x7 and a few that are larger, of the ocean, that are signed Tosi. Name: tosi_1(1).jpg

Note: I have merged 4 different threads on the artist who signs his or work "Tosi" into a single thread. The result may be a little repetitive or confusing in places, but at least all the information is in one place.

I also have a painting aquired around 1969-1970 signed A. Tosi. Signature is printed not signed. It is a wedding portrait of my parents.
