hi everyone,
probably a shot in the dark here but i'm looking for a painting that i saw in the Louvre years ago and that has always stuck with me. here's what i remember of it: it was a painting of a small ship in dark stormy seas. the sky and sea were quite dark - nearly black if i recall correctly - but the small ship that was being tossed about in the heaving sea had a solitary lantern casting a warm, orange glow. i know that this a pathetically sparse description but it was literally a decade ago. for whatever reason that painting has always stuck with me and i'd love to identify it. thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light! i'd be eternally grateful. -Rick Brown |
