Default painting

I found a painting when I first move into my home about 10 years ago. I keep promising myself to do some research on it to see what it worth, but I never got around it until now. The painting look like a genuine oil painting but I don’t know much about painting, so I wonder if anyone out there can help to indentified the artist. It is of a little girl pouring mike into a bowl for a kitten. It had got a sign initial with what look like EE or ET with the date 1883. Can anyone help? ps can you also put a estimate value on it.

A photograph of the painting and the signature would help. I started to look up listed artists just with the initials E.E., but there were too many to sift through.

Also, where are you located? That might be a clue. In the UK?
