It looks like a french painting of the turn of 16th century to 17th cent. but your image is not wide enough The subject is an allegory. Probably an allegory of the five senses. We have here all the elements usually shown in this sort of painting. For example in the Sebastien Stoskopff allegory (Strasbourg museum) you can find the lady playing luth, the dog, the cards, the chessboard, the flowers and so on. The title could be also "allegory of the pleasures of the life". A better image could help for more.

Good work. Apparently the painting was just sold at Sothebys on 9 December 2009.
