This painting is an attic find from an old house. I took it to my painting class and was told it is on linen, and had been restreched. There are old holes where the nails have been removed. I can not make out the signature (maybe soemthing Clark?) The painting only has a few specks on one hand and one speck near her face missing. Other than those pin sized places the painting is in remarkable shape. Perhaps it has been restored? My teacher said that even the pallet used is unusual in coloring for todays oils. I do not understand the numbers written on the back? Any help in dating this or artist information will be greatly appreciated. http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f.../signature.jpg

I'd guess that the subject is "Flora", the Roman goddess of Spring. No idea about the artist.
