Would anyone know anything about this very beautiful picture that I have aquired, done by Sir Edwin Landseer. Title? Origin?
On the bottom left is printed: "Painted by Sir Edwin Landseer" In the middle is printed: "London: Published May 18th 1885 by Moore McQueen & Company, Limited, 25 Berners Street, Oxford Street: Paris, Chez Francois Delarue Editeur 18 Rue J.J. Rousseau: Originally Published by Sir F.G. Moon Bar Oct 28th 1838" On the bottom right corner is printed: " Engraved by C.G. Lewis" |

The title is "Return from Hawking." It shows Francis Lord Egerton and his family; that's his wife Harriet on the horse. A description (referring to a different engraving after the same painting ) can be found here .

Thanks LadyAnna, I looked up the information. This one that I have is pretty old, and in great condition, with original printing on the margins. Hmmm, I wonder.
