Wow, that's a hard signature to read. The artist doesn't seem very accomplished (not that I'm an expert on modern art styles), but there's something about the composition that I like. The tower looms over the whole scene in a kind of unexpected way.

Thanks for the response. Its an terrible signature... hehe... <--- can't make anything sensible out of it. But it is an very nice painting, like you said there is something about it. Its very warm and happy painting. |

Interesting. Does anyone else see other cities besides Paris in this painting?

Certainly Paris although this impossible view of the Eiffel tower. I would read this sign as JH (Jean-Jules-Julien/Henri/Honoré-Hubert) Dubosq (we find this name here sometimes with Dubosc or Duboscq). But I have been unable to find this artist.

It does have something from the Netherlands, Amsterdam to be specific. It kinda reminds me of the rembrandtsquare (typical hehe), if you come from the Utrechtse straat. (For the ones that are from amsterdam). Maybe he just decided to paint the eifel tower in Amsterdam. Everyone thanks for the replies... |
