About six year ago I saw a picture of this painting and I fell inlove imediately! However, I cannot remember the name to save my life . . . If you can help, you will have my undying gratitude.
Description: painted in a Romantic style (much like Waterhouse), two main figures of a woman in a blue dress (medieval-ish era) accending a dark narrow castle staircase and knight tucked partially in the shadows, her right arm is about his neck/face and he holds her arm as if it is all he will ever get to touch . . . in a silent plea for her forbidden affections . . . Her face is not in view and I believe that her hair was strawberry blonde. I saw this painting in a museum replicas magazine and think that the title is something like "the interlude", "the exchange", "forbidden exchange" . . . Please help - if you can. Thank you!!! ~Wynsome |

It's The Meeting on the Turret Stairs, by Frederic William Burton.
