Hi--
I am trying to find a painting I saw in a museum some years ago. The painting shows a woman, not young, who has been interrupted while reading. She is, I seem to remember, seated at a table leaning her face against one hand while the other holds the book open. The reason I could still describe her to a police artist is the expression on her face, which is the still-inward stare of one who has been interrupted in extreme concentration but has not yet shifted her concentration to the interruption. I think the museum was American, but I am not really sure. Thanks in advance, Steve |

No, but thank you! It's amazingly close to my description, isn't it.
