I was given this painting by my stepfather a few years ago. He said that someone had given it to him and that he had no idea if it was worth anything and had no idea about the artist. Its been in a closet for a while now, rolled up, as I dont really have a place for this type of art in my home (not my style)
Now, out of the blue, my stepfather wants the painting back. Hes actually quite frantic about it (6yrs later). And Im dying to know why... The paiting is about 4' x 6'. Ive searched all over the internet for a lead but Ive had no luck. Sorry about the crappy photos, they were done with a phone. Thanks in advance. Here are the photos of the piece: http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...t=SNC00122.jpg http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...t=SNC00121.jpg |

No idea on this end, however, the painting looks warped due to being rolled up. Perhaps he wants it for sentimental reasons.

I know exactly how you feel. I have been trying to locate a bronze sculpture for 15 years. The only suggestion I can give is to query the University Art department. If you know in what city it was painted then you may be closer to the answer. Lecturers are often very familiar with art styles and genres.

I have a feeling my loopy stepfather watched one too many episodes of "Antiques Roadshow" and thinks he gave away a cool million or something.
