Maybe someone will recognise the painting or the style so that I can find out more.
I appreciate any help or information I can get. Regards |

"Katz" seems the most likely, but I was getting annoyed with the artist just looking at that first letter. Are you sure it isn't the-artist-formerly-known-as-Prince?

Without this signature, I was convinced at first sight (when it was published on another forum) that the artist is Brahim Bouhamani. Just an idea I share because the case does not go forward

Aren't those Arabic letters? If so they would be written from right to left. Perhaps you could contact someone familiar with Arabic script.

The first character, maybe. But it appears to be followed by "atz", with a long flourish at the end.
In deciphering that first character, it may be helpful to show the signature at the exact angle as it appears on the page, at the lower right: ![]() |

Many thanks John, saintmark, Eirene for come out your guess.
In general I don't have any clue about artist. But very much it would be desirable to learn the author of this w\c. I really don't even know the time period. It looks relatively old, but I'm not sure. I agree with sainmark what the stylistics this w\c are similar to works Brahim Bouhamani, but signature I very much apologize John but I have not understood that you mean to tell <Are you sure it isn't the-artist-formerly-known-as-Prince?> Thanks for your help. |

The "Prince" reference was a joke. The musician Prince changed his name at one point to this symbol, and insisted on being referred to as "the artist formerly known as Prince". The first character of the signature above looks just as intricate.

...Actually, I just realized that it looks something like a musical symbol called the treble clef. I mean, the first character superficially "looks" a bit like a B or an L maybe, but if you look at the way the line is traced (the way that the artist actually wrote the character), it's much the way you would write a treble clef. Maybe that's a clue.
