I got a painting fairly small about 3" by 1 1/2". Its a picure of a mermaid like girl-white with brown hair, holding a piece of cloth above her head. in the backround is a little ship that seems to be sinking. The signature starts with: Elfrish...... and i cant figure out the rest. if anyone knows the painting please tell me if you know the artist. Thanks.

Perhaps she's one of the Sirens who lured ships to their doom, from Greek mythology.
