Painting signed "gris"
I have a painting of an older wise man smoking something. It appears to be painted on banana leaves or something similar. It is signed, "gris" in the lower left corner. Does anyone know the artist or value of this?

I don't recognize the description, but gris is french for grey-possibly a lead *shrugs*

Gris painting of Birds on Leaves

gris oil paintiing
I have an oil painting of 2 birds on branches eating purple berries. One bird is red/black and the other green/black. Painting is on leaves. The bottom left corner is signed gris. The ris is underlined with a dot under it. I too would like to know more about the artist.

Gris paintings
I also have a set of these paintings. Mine are of tropical birds. Found them in a secondhand store for 20 dollars. I love them and was wondering if they hold any monetary value.

I too have a gris painting of two colorful birds on limbs w/berries. My mother got it at a garage sale years ago, it did come with COA from Creative Interiors, but I can't seem to find info on it either.

Gris oil painting (old wise man smoking pipe)
I also have a similar painting of the old wise man smoking pipe. There is alot of information about a french artist Juan Gris on the Internet but he painted a completely different type of art and used a different signature (very very expensive art,held the highest price at auction ever, $20.8 million for a number of years). This could be the same artist who painted these works with the different signature at some point in his life or it could be a unknown artist. Hopefully someone may have more information about these Gris pieces and whether Juan Gris at some point in his life may have completed different style paintings. I haven't seen your paintings but I believe they are painted on Tabacco Leafs like this one.
