I recently purchased a painting which I believe is a Chinese embroidery painting. The subject is the Great Hall of China. There are Chinese characters along the left and right sides of the painting and i do not know what they mean.
The picture is framed and matted under glass and has a brown paper backing with the words '"Great Hall of the People, China Trip '72 Nixon". These words are handwritten in cursive writing. There is also a white label with the words Great Hall of China Visit of R. Nixon. I am trying to determine the authenticity of this item and whether it is indeed an embroidery painting. Can any help me? I can send an email with a picture of the item. Thanks pat |
