I am new to the site and have a painting question:

I am looking for a painting I saw at a gallery in Laguna Beach, CA years ago. It is of a woman who is sitting on a chair/stool in what looks like a basement kitchen, with lots of stone behind her. She has dark hair which is near her face, a red dress on, and fair skin. Her eyes are very haunting, blue I think, and she is holding something on her lap.

I am not sure if this is enough details...I would love to know who the artist is and what the painting is called. Any ideas?
