Mysterious modern artist "Jaby" or "Taby" or Jaly...???
I own one of the works by this artist, which I like very much.
I have found more at auction, but I can't get a firm grip on who this is and wonder if I'm reading the signature correctly? Very distinct style. Not so good in the calligraphy department. I'm going to try to attach some images of paintings and the signatures. All of the works have... angles of light in them. Oil on canvas. The one I own is of an artist painting a picture of St. George slaying a dragon, but my pics are dismal. I found an auction record identifying one like these as "A Haby" but have had no luck with finding anything on that name, either. I have been looking for about 5 months now, and at last come to you for help... |

I just purchased 2 paintings this morning. They are obviously the same artist. Both paintings depict a man playing the violin, even though they appear to be different men. Same grandfather clock as in one of the pics you posted. Did you ever find anything on this artist?
