There' a brief obituary of her husband Donald Emerson Elgee here
http://www.inmemoriam.ca/announcemen...SON-ELGEE.html

and her sister Elizabeth Murray
http://www.inmemoriam.ca/announcemen...TH-MURRAY.html

So her maiden name would have been Marguerite Murray.

She was living in Fredricton, New Brunswick in 1985 and died before 2002

But I don't think she had anything to do with your watercolours. Cecil and M Elgee published a book called "John's Rhymes of India" in Bombay in 1926, and given that the landscape looks like an Indian scene that's probably your artist.

Default M. Elgee C. Elgee

My mom was a good friend of M. Leeming and D. Mawdsley from Victoria BC, Canada. C. Elgee and M. Elgee often vacationed at their house which my mom lived next door to. She painted a couple of pictures of my moms dogs in the 60s. My mom also inherited several other animal watercolors pastel of dogs and a couple watercolors of Africa and India by M. Elgee.

They are all very lovely and were trying to research the artist a bit.

We were wondering if these hold any value?

Much thanks for all that info.

The links work for me. Try bringing up the page in Google and clicking the "cache" link if the main link doesn't work:

Donald Emerson Elgee

Elizabeth Murray
