Default artist identification?

Any idea who D. Newton might be?

Don't know if you are aware of this, but Simpson's was a department store in Canada that merged with or was taken over by Sears Roebuck. You can see that the logo on the tag on your painting is the pre-1957 Simpson's logo.

So I don't know who D. Newton is, but I wouldn't be surprised if your painting was mass produced.

oh didnt know about the simpsons/sears story...
but no need to search for more, its mass produced!
