Please help identify artist
We have 4 paintings from this artist but we have no idea who he/she is. I dont have pics of the painting right now, just the sig. The paintings of each season... I dont know if that helps.

I think I can see "Jazz" in that, but it's probably my mind playing tricks on me.

at first I saw Matt ? but its really difficult... picture of the whole painting could help...?! |

We found a receipt which refers to this artist as "Valdi"
That hasnt helped me with my searches online... has anyone ever heard of this artist? |

I can find a couple of references to one Guido Valdi ; on ebay
GUIDO VALDI ITALIAN LANDSCAPE WITH VILLA. ORIGINAL OIL ON CANVAS BY ITALIAN ARTIST and Craigslist THIS A GUIDO VALDI PAINTING ON CANVAS IT WAS PAINTED AROUND 1960'S AND IT WAS ORIGINALY BOUGHT AT MERRIL CHASE GALLERY I HAVE A CERTIFICATE ... Unfortunately both listings have expired and that, taken from the Google search page is all I can find. Still,the subject seems right. One thing sure is that the signature is the same than this one on a painting in a thread from march 22

I also have some Valdi paintings. I have the first one listed in both a winter scene and a summer scene. Plus I have 2 of "Paris street cafe scenes." I have about 7 of his paintings. I would also like to know value.

Artist Valdi
This note came with the "Oil Paintings by the artist Valdi"
"Born in 1935 in Clermont-Ferrand, France. He is considered an "Artist of the World". Because of migrating parents his childhood was influenced by the varied arts of different countries. His favorite was the impressionists at the Marmottan Museum, where by running errands and doing odd jobs, he received different types of art instruction. To be mentioned is "L'Ecole des Beaux Arts" in Paris." There's more but I still can't find any info on him. I have about 6 or 7 of his paintings and looking to see their value. |
