There are numerous engravings of Lawrence's portrait of Knighton, but does anyone know where the original is?

Getty Images appears to have a photograph of the painting, sourced from the Hulton Archive, which is a British company. It's black-and-white only, suggesting it was taken quite a while ago.

You could try finding current contact information for the Hulton Archive (not that hard to find in Google) and asking the question. You could also try Getty Images, but they'd be less likely to know the details of the original photograph.
