Default How do you figure out the signature of a Chinese or Japanese on a piece of art?

I bought this silk piece of artwork. I'm trying to figure out how to read the signature to see if it's by anyone famous. How would I go about researching it? I don't even know if it's Chinese or Japanese. There is a stamp on it also. Is there a way for an American to do that? Also, if I find out who it's by...how can I research the artist to see if they are collectible? I will post photos.
