Hello,
I recently purchased this and I cannot quite figure out what the signature says. I think it is A. Ramas or Ramos. I have tried so many different letter combination's. The last letter could be a J? I could not find anyone that fit those initials with that style of painting. This may be an unknown artist and that is fine to because I really like this painting. But it would be nice to know who it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Michelle ![]() ![]() ![]() |

At first glance it looks like Ramos, but on closer inspection it appears to say "Ranso" or "Ramso".

Thank you John. It is kind of driving me crazy trying to figure this out.
My friends all say something different. Like the A. is an H. or the R is really a P. The back of the canvas has nothing written on it. But it is quite yellowed. You can see the contrast from under the frame. The painting seems to be still bright. So hopefully it's not from years of being in a house of smokers. Thank you for replying to my post! |

Someone told me that it could be an Asian artist who signed his/her work in English. If that is true would I still be able to find out who the artist is? And I wonder about it's age as well.
My original pictures somehow got deleted so here they are again...... ![]() ![]() |

This looks like a rice field in the Philippines - if it is then the name is likely to be Ramos.
Hope this helps |
