Question We have an oil painting from Spectra Galleries in Los Angeles in 1986

It's a barn next to a creek (or river) landscape.

The tag on the back has the following information:

frame - 2219
subject - 1590#24.

I'm not an artist but the painting looks original to me. I can't find any info about the gallery or the artist online. Any suggestions?

I recently received two pieces, one is from the same gallery. It is rather large and the artist signed it Deva. I am also interested in finding out about the gallery and the artist and have been unable to learn anything. I found a number for the gallery in North Hollywood, but the number has been disconnected.

It would be interesting to find out what they are worth and more works of art by the same author. If anyone is able to locate anything please post!

I also have a painting from Spectra Galleries. It was in my parents home for years. The back of it says: subject 1612 1+16. I have no idea the worth of the painting, but I'm sure the bought it at a home furnishing store, If anyone has any idea of its worth, I would appreciate it.

Default Spectra Galleries

I bought a beautiful, carved wood frame, 27 x 39", JF Herring print "The Meet" at a yard sale for $200.00 in 1997. she told me it came from a Gallery In VA where she paid $500.00 five years previous, so I believe Spectra was in business prior to that.

Default Spectra Galleries

The answer to your question is Spectra Galleries was a whosale division of
Aaron Brothers Art Marts in early to mid 1980s The painting was most likely came from a factory in Japan or China, and made in the thousands. Sorry to tell you it not from a famous artist, and really has no real collector value
