Default Zurich 1800s original oil of small girl

i obtained this oil painting at an estate sale years ago. on the bottom left corner of the piece reads:

Verlag v Gebr von Schenk,
Heidelberg u Zurich

Gelfarbendr v Hindermann & Siebenmann
Zurich

and on the left side further up the piece a signature barely readable looks like it is:
E Profchold
1873

i am not sure about the 'r' or the 'f' in the signature. the painting is approx. 14 in x 16 in. it is a small female child sitting at a dinner table with a black and red checked dress with white small lacy collar with a cross hung around her neck with black ribbon. she is blonde haired with large blue eyes and her hair is pulled back in front and tied with small dark ribbon on top of her head. she has sad eyes. she has her elbows on the table and her fingers are intwined, as if to begin her blessing of the food. her little hands are quite clean and dainty. the food consists of a large shallow white bowl with what appears to be soup with a couple of small potatoes and a small roll on the table in front of the bowl. there is a large spoon lying cup-side down to the right of the bowl and a neatly folded napkin with what seems to be a ribbon around it beside the spoon. all this sits on a large medium green and black checked placemat on a table with a white tablecloth. the background is very dark and the only things visible are described above.
i would love the trace the origin of this piece. if possible, i would really love to find some way to identify the girl and perhaps even get this piece to a relative who would probably cherish it. i know the likelyhood of that ever happening is next to impossible. but.... ya never know.
so, if there is anyone out there who would have a clue as to how to begin my quest, it would be a good thing to help this happen. this is someone's ancestor.
thanks, mcribb
