Hi there,
Hoping someone can give me some guidance on what to do with 2 newly aquired lithographs. From my research, I know they are Alexandre Joseph Désiré Bivort (1809-1872) who was a Belgian horticulturist. They are pears (Orpheline Colmar (Van Mons) and Beurre D'Hardenpont (Hardenpont)). I don't know much about art, and I'm uncertain how to proceed. I'm looking to sell them...so do I contact a gallery, get an appraisal, put them on ebay? Of course I realize there are many factors that effect their value, and I'm pretty clueless. I believe they are in their original frames, or were framed a very long time ago. Leave them framed? Thanks to you for your time and ideas! |

Findartinfo.com has a few auction results that suggest they could be moderately valuable. I'm not sure what the best way to dispose of them would be.

I would leave them framed for now and contact a few auction houses specialised in that kind of theme/period with good pictures.
