Default Help with this painting

Hello there,
I'd love some help identifying this painting. I picked it up in a secondhand shop in Palm Springs. It's on a hexagonal canvas, and is about 6' in diameter. There is no signature.

Any ideas?

I didnt care for it when I looked at the first picture, but it looks great in your home. My first thought is that it looks like some of Sol Lewitt's work.

Looks like it's this artist: Alvin D. Loving Jr (1935-2005)

Score! And this picture looks much larger than the one in that link. According to findartinfo.com and artinfo.com, both of which have some free auction results online, that painting could be worth a pretty penny (assuming it proves to be an original painting by Loving).

you might want to move that lamp away from it.

awesome! thanks so much! i did move the lamp away from it - good advice!

It totally looks like a lot of Loving's work but the colors are different than he used.

I'm really curious now who painted it! I'm going to keep digging around.

Thanks again!
