![]() ![]() I got these paintings from a woman who said she brought them to America with her from Vietnam when she married her American husband after the war. Whether that is true, I don't know. I just really liked the paintings and I am curious to find out who the artist was/is and when they were possibly done. I have looked and looked online and can't find anything like it. It is lacquer on wood with a scene of a village. Thanks for your help! |

This is Vietnamese art. People on the painting carry the typical hat of Vietnam. This type of art is done everywhere in Vietnam in the past and in the present.
There is a large industry which produce thousands and thousands of lacquer paintings every year. 99% of the paintings are made for the export or for tourist. If there is no signature you will find never the maker I am affraid. |

I wonder then, if there is a way to find out how old they are?
