Trying to find out about this artist and painting
Please could someone help me identify the artist or any information about this painting. It's an original oil on board, framed and very dirty. I don't know how old it is. The signature says "DARTOIS". There are a couple of images of it in this album.

Thank you very much. That's very interesting and leads us in a new direction. I bought it in France so thought "Dartois" made sense. There doesn't appear to be a "W" on the signature and we've only found watercolours by DARTON. Ours is an oil on board - we can keep researching now thanks to your help.
