Can anyone identify this painting of old women reading?

I grabbed this image off the web some years ago and forgot to note any identifying information.

It must have been taken down at wherever I got it, for I have combed the net with Google image searches and every kind of key word I can think of. Tineye.com cannot come up with a single match for it.

There's a signature, but I can't make it out.

Does the image or the signature ring a bell for anyone?

Sorry, picture didn't come through. Click "Post Reply" and use the paperclip icon to upload it. There's a size limit, which is pretty generous, but some people do hit it so that may have been the problem.

Sorry, John I've tried umpteen times now and can't get the image to show. It's only 19.3 KB.

I am doomed never to know what painting this is.

They came through, but as it says on our home page, posts must be manually approved before they appear. That has been done, and maybe someone will recognize the picture. It's not familiar to me.
