I apologise in advance for the lack of detail for this painting. I saw it online, I think early last year. It was on a perfume blog and I've been searching for months and not been able to find it again.
It is of a street at night or in early eveining, in late Autumn or Winter. It is in a slightly impressionistic style. I think it is by a French artist The perspective starts at the bottom left of the painting. The street has lit houses and I think there may be a church at the right hand side of the street to the right of the painting. The main tones are amber, orange and gold. It's an evocative painting and has haunted me since I saw it (I thought I had saved it to my pc at the time but hadn't). I would be very grateful for any help in finding it. |

Could it be by British artist John Atkins Grimshaw? 1836-1893
