Hi, I'm trying to find a copy of this painting that I used to see at my grandma's.
It's a late 19th century painting of a girl. In full dress, sitting in a chair, leaning back, legs are a bit stretched out, resting. Her eyes are half closed. there is a large hat in her lap with newly picked flowers in the hat. I think there might be some sun. The whole picture has a warm tone. Might be of impressionism but can't be sure. It was long time ago. I used to felt very peaceful when I saw the picture. Anybody knows? Thanks! |

My first thought is that it sounds like Mary Cassatt, but I don't know that specific painting offhand.

Thanks, John. But I just checked it wasn't her. Come to think of it, there was certain level of detail to the painting. Might not be an impressionistic piece. I have a feeling it was by a man. There was certain romantic air to the painting. I'm pretty certain it was late 19th century because of her clothes.
